The layout of the building is clearly related to wind protection: The twisting of the plan creates protected areas around the entrances, and the roof is brought all the way down to the embracing stone walls. The section relates to the shape of the ridge.
Window openings appear as gaps between the stone walls and the wooden roof. Almost like eyes between scarf and hood.
