The building wraps itself around an existing pilot station on the ridge of the island, creating an architectural friction between the two. The shaping of the slate-clad skin relates to the topography of the Island and the roof scape of the village below.
Distinctly profiled, the building also serves its purpose as beacon for navigating in the rough surrounding waters.
